Salute to Our Seniors: Brendan Doherty- Marshfield High School Aug 26, 2013

Brendan was an incredible leader and motivator on our team. He led by example and had a way of bringing the team together. He is one of the toughest and most reliable athletes I have ever coached. He will only continue to improve in college and will be a great addition at Holy Cross.

Salute to Our Seniors: Ben Henson, Barnstable High School Jul 28, 2013

It has been my privilege and honor to coach Ben.  Ben could always be counted on to score points for the team as he is the quintessential team player.  As Team Captain he was a great motivator.  I wish him well at Embry Riddle.   ------Barnstable Track Coach

Salute to Our Seniors: Caroline Turner, Needham High School Jul 21, 2013

"From the very first time I met Caroline at our preseason meeting for cross country, I knew she would be a special member of our team.  From her tough-as-nails attitude on the course, to the kindness and compassion she shows her teammates, she is the complete package.  She will be greatly missed at Needham but I know that her endlessly positive attitude and hard work will serve her well in everything she pursues."

Coach Van Cott - Needham High School

Salute to Our Seniors: Kasey Cannister , Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School Jul 08, 2013

I would like to say thank you to my coaches, parents, and teammates for supporting me in my journey as a student athlete. You all pushed me to do my best, never give up, and enjoy what I do. Freshmen, you are all wonderful people and athletes -- continue to push yourselves as you'll be amazed by what you can accomplish by senior year. We Eat Nails!

Salute to Our Seniors: Jared Geller, Wakefield High School Jul 08, 2013

I can't say enough about Jared's perseverance, dedication, leadership, and work ethic over his time at Wakefield High School.  He squeezed every bit of potential out of himself with his consistent hard work, and as a result, improved more than any athlete I have ever been around.  It won't surprise me one bit if he continues to excel in this sport.  Potential state champions, struggling beginners, and everyone in between should take notice of what he has accomplished, and realize it really is true that if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish some amazing things.   -Coach Pappas

Salute to Our Seniors: Kevin Thomas, Marshfield Aug 18, 2012

Kevin was such an important part of our team for 4 years. He has been proving people wrong ever since he was a freshmen, making huge improvements each year. No matter what event we put him in we knew that we were going to get a 100% effort. There probably was not more of a team athlete then Kevin in the entire state. Even after some of his biggest accomplishments he was wondering how other athletes on the team and other teams had finished. He will certainly be missed for not only his athletic ability but also his personality and sportsmanship.  ------ Coach Sheppard

Salute to Our Seniors: Ryan Talanian, Marshfield Jul 31, 2012

Salute to Our Seniors: Ryan Talanian

"Ryan has been the leader of our sprinters for the past few years. He has shown great versatility by competing in any event needed to help the team. His toughness and consistency is unmatched. He has been a great role model for the younger sprinters and will only continue to improve in college."   ----Coach Sheppard

Salute to Our Seniors: Ramzi Bechara, Norton H.S. Jul 17, 2012

One difficult obstacle that I feel like most of all trackless had to overcome was getting that perfect balance of school, fun and track to work together Track is an individual sport, but after the race, after the meet is over, you are part of a team of people, accomplishing something so much more than just winning a single race.

Salute to Our Seniors: Alex Sullivan, Northampton Jul 16, 2012

First of all my whole coaching staff. I honestly think I had some of the best coaches in the state which made all the difference in the world. Not only the coaching itself and how knowledgeable they were about the sport, but people like Coach Kraft, Coach Clayton, and Coach Frodema always kept me motivated and excited about running. Even though I wasn't a field athlete the jumping and throwing coaches were just as amazing. Also my family for coming to just about every home/away meet, and for a ridiculous amount of trips to Reggie over the years.

Salute to Our Seniors: Cayla Kalinowski - Ursuline Academy Jul 14, 2012

When I look back on Cayla's high school career the first thing that will always come to my mind is how she EARNED the honor of being a Catholic Conference All Star during Cross Country. It's the kind of simple success story one never grows tired of hearing about. It's a story about hard work being rewarded. Cayla's summer training log was full of consistent daily runs for the entire summer. As a result the team was able to rely on her to consistently give quality performance after quality performance throughout the entire season. There were times when other runners were injured or sick but no matter what happened to the other runners on the team I knew we could always rely on Cayla to come through. As a result she was one of our strong Captains that led Ursuline Academy to their first CCL title and first ever appearance at the All State meet. Needless to say I'm confident I will be talking about Cayla for years to come. I will be using her example to help impress upon younger runners the value summer training and hard work can have on your success in running and life. Finally it is only fitting that her final race in an Ursuline uniform was a tough gutsy battle from start to finish with her pr twin Emma Lugten. She finished her high school career the same way she ran it for as long as I have known her; with character, grit and pride. Thank you Cayla for all that you have given to Ursuline's track and xc programs. We will miss you! - CoachTShaw

Salute to Our Seniors: Joel Hubbard Jul 12, 2012

Joel has been the face of our team for the last 4 years. He is a strong competitor that you can never count out of a race. He has helped our team in so many ways over the years, running anything from the 300m to the 5k. Nothing proved how much he means to his team then then anchor leg of the DMR at Nationals. It will be tough to replace an athlete of his Joel's ability. The best has yet to come with this young athlete, at age 17 the future is very bright. ------Coach Sheppard

Salute to Our Seniors: Joe Vercollone Jul 10, 2012

"Joe has been An outstanding runner for us for the last four years, but his leadership skills were more impressive.  His ability to lead both physically and vocally always impressed us as a coaching staff. Joe also showed incredible resilience thoughout his 4 yrs, whenever something didn't go well, he always seemed to rise to the occasion the very next chance he had. It was a pleasure to be a part of joes career over the past four years, I am going to miss him."---Coach Zopatti

Salute to Our Seniors: Grace Barter Jul 07, 2012

"Grace Barter is someone who I will never doubt.  Ever.  She's going to be one of the people who I cannot wait to see in 10 or so years from now because I know that whatever she wants to do, she'll be successful.  She was our team "Mom", and gave everything to the sport.  I'm most proud not of her running success, but more of how she inspired others and gave endlessy to the cause of our self-funded indoor team. Grace set up numerous fund-raisers and was consistently an athlete whom I trusted more than any other to get the rest of the team together to organize certain meetings and fundraisers.  The fact that she worked so hard on and off the track made it that much more special for Coach Lavers and I to celebrate her success of qualifying for the state meet in the spring, which had been a long time goal of hers. Her patience, understanding and genuine kindness makes her a very special athlete." Coach Infascelli
