WMass Division 2
BOYS
A much-improved Jesse Seid of Mount Greylock will be looking to make it happen this weekend. Seid was eighth at last year's divisional state meet, but looks primed to win it this weekend. He finished second at the Burnt Hills Invitational in N.Y., with a three-mile best of 16:15, a minute faster than his effort in 2016. He also ran 16:40.48 at the Queensbury Invitational in N.Y., more than a minute and a half better than he did last year. Frontier Regional's Carsten Carey, who was ninth at the recent PVIAC Championships, and Mount Greylock's Sam Culver, who was timed in 16:23.7 at Burnt Hills, could also figure among those top slots. It's anybody's guess what team will be hoisting the trophy at the end with a handful capable of winning the title this weekend, Among those schools are Mount Greylock, Westfield, Hampshire Regional, Lenox Memorial and Frontier Regional.
