Erin Dietz Sophomore Bedford High School
This weeks Marathon Sports Athlete of the Week is awarded to Erin Dietz from Bedford high School. The Dual County League Coaches are well aware of this sophomore sensation as she has already set a few course records in dual meets. Can we all stop for one second and just think what Erin Dietz just accomplished last weekend ? In her first ever major cross-country invitational, on the toughest course in New England, she wins the Bay State Invitational in 19 Minutes and 20 Seconds. She runs the 22nd fastest time ever at Northfield, and in the process defeated one of the best in our state in Abbey McNulty. Erin Dietz has instantly become one of the favorites for the Division II All State title.
This was a huge win for Erin, She knew before the race that there would be tough competition, but she executed her race plan perfectly. The other coaches in the DCL all knew about Erin, but this was her first big invitational since joining the team this fall. Now teams across the state know about Erin. Needles to say, she has made her teammates and classmates extremely proud, said Bedford High head coach Joel Hebert.
