MIAA All State Boys' Running Events' Preview

HURDLES

At last year's All State Meet just two athletes broke 15 seconds for the 110m hurdles. This weekend could be slightly different. Top seed Adam Yang of Acton-Boxborugh leads a talented field where nine have gone under 15 seconds!  Yang registered a huge PR of 14.48 to win this past Monday's Eastern Division 2 Meet.  He'll be looking for redemption in this race. In 2017, he never made it to the finals after winning his divisional meet a week earlier. Among some of the contenders are Stoughton's David Peters (14.64), Andover's Alec Pascoe (14.79) and Dracut's Jovan Algbekaen (14.83).

The 400m hurdles could be one of THE races to watch! It matches Pacoe with Woburn's Brendan Tumesigye, who clocked the two fastest times in the state with winning times of 54.48 and 54.83, respectively, in their Eastern Division meets on Monday . Brockton's Jordan Williams is on the cusp of going under 55 seconds with a best of 55.15. Will we see something in the 53-second range with this gifted field? It could happen.
