CMass Division 1
GIRLS
Just like the boys' race, Shepherd Hill looks to be the odds-on-favorite in this one and a team capable of winning it all next weekend. The Rams have the firepower up front with sub-19 runners Rebekah James and Gabrielle Lawrence. Behind the duo are talented teammates Helena Duke, Christina Gunsalus, Emma Whitehead and Emma Sullivan, who have all broken 20 minutes this season. James and Lawrence went 1-2 in the Class B race of the Bay State Invitational last month, but will have to bring their 'A' game this weekend to match that performance. Algonquin's Tess Reyes will certainly be battling up front. She posted a PR and the division's top time of 18:26.99 to finish as a runner-up in the Class C race of Bay State. Reyes also finished second to James at the Mid-Wach Championships on Oct. 28. Keep an eye on Jamie and Bailie Falla of Wachusett, too.
