Viraj Deokar of the Middlesex School in Concord broke Massachusetts State Indoor record in the 5000 Meter run. Deokar finished in 14:46.28 to capture 4th place. Fernando Braz of Peabody High School held the old record of 14:52.3 set back in 1980. The New England record was also broken by Eric van der Els of Norwalk, Ct.. His time of 14:42.4 broke Don Cabral's record of 14:44.16.
