Boys Teams To Watch

The 2013 Twilight meet continues to grow in size and popularity, as the electric atmosphere and fast times  are attracting more and more teams.  The biggest change  to this year meet is the addition of Pembroke.  Coach Zopatti's Titans , the defending 2 State Champions, have requested to run up in the Division 1 race.  The MSTCA also  granted permission for the Titans to run a second Varsity Team in the Dvision 2 race.  This will certainly add to the carnival atmosphere as they will attempt to take home a few Varsity Team awards.  The Titans will be competing against some of the Top teams in the MSTCA Polls.  Newton North ( #2)  will make their first  appearance out of the Bay State League.  The Tigers will battle  Mansfield (#3), Peabody (#4) , and St John's Shrewbury (#5). Look for some of these teams to run some of their young talent in the Freshman & Sophomore Divisions, either way the polls will certainly be rattled a little bit come next Monday.

The Division 2 race should be wide open, as teams like Newburyport (#2 ) and Tewksbury (#3 )  will not be competing.  Look for the second Pembroke team to give Hopedale (# 4) and Seekonk (#5) a run for their money.

Girls Teams To Watch:

Abbie McNulty will be taking her #1 ranked Bishop Feehan team to the line Saturday night, but they will have plenty of company. The Division 1 Race will host 8 out of the Top 10 ranked teams. Lincoln Sudbury ( #2 ), Needham (#3) , Weymouth (#5), Newton South (#6), Notre Dame (#7) , Beverly (#9), and Newton North (#10) . Again, many of these teams may spread some of the younger guns in the Freshman and Sophomore Races, but we will have a pretty clear picture of what November may look like by Sunday.

The Division 2 Race will be missing Tynsborough ( #1) and Hamilton Wenham (#2) but look for Dover-Sherborn (#4) , Weston (#5) , and Ursuline (#7) to battle for the Top spots.
