Newton North didn’t finish higher than second in an individual event and was seventh at the MIAA Division 1 meet last week. It came into the MIAA All-State track championship battling injuries. But the girls from Newton North pulled off the almost unthinkable and won their fourth consecutive title, finishing with 27 points. Acton-Boxboro was second with 21.“This is one of the better ones,” coach Joe Tranchita said. “A lot of teams had ruled us out after last week, not realizing we were only 32-hundredths of a second out of first place last week, if you look at how close some of our scores were.”
