He ran 6.93 in his preliminary heat and 6.89 in the semifinals, where he missed advancing to the finals by one spot and one-hundredth of a second. Rodney Agyare-May of Burncoat just missed qualifying for the finals of the 400m with an indoor best of 48.60 in his preliminary heat. He was 12th overall among the 46 competitors. Theo Burba of Newton North was 37th with a time of 50.77.
