Saturday's regional competition drew teams from several different states.
Saint John's Prep Senior Joe Luongo set a new Massachusetts 600 Meter State record this past weekend at the Armory Track Invitational in New York City. Luongo ran 1:18.84 and finished second place in the Invitation only event. His time broke former Somerville High School star Andre Rolim's record time of 1:19.94.
The two fastest Massachusetts 600 Meter runners were invited to the Big Apple this weekend to compete in the New Balance Collegiate Invitational. Saint John's Prep runner Joe Luongo lowered his States fastest 600 Meter time to 1:20.23. The 2013 state runnerup finished second place in invitation only event held at the prestigious Armory Track. Luongo finished second to Richard Rose of the Boys and Girls School.
