Junior Kathy O'Keefe (1,500 meters), freshman Christina Zeloney (400-meter hurdles) and classmate Fallyn Boich (javelin) each captured first-place finishes to Boston College women's track and field at the UConn Invitational at the George J. For his third event in 22 hours, the Medway, Mass. product was positioned in the sixth slot on the starting line. As the championship group went out slow, Thomas wisely avoided being trapped on the inside and perched himself on the shoulders of the lead runners. As the race unfolded and the pace picked up, his move to gain ground was unrewarded and he finished in 10th place with a time of 4:15.10.

Sophomore Louis Serafini ran a fast 1200-meter opening leg and successfully navigated a bottle-necked line at the first hand off to freshman Jack Hennessy, who zig-zagged past the exhausted 1200-meter group and kept BC in the hunt with a solid 50.23 quarter-mile split. The relay kicked into another gear as senior Ian Thomas turned out his 800-meter leg and sophomore Jordan Hamm was able to pick up two spots during the mile-anchor leg to finish in seventh place.
