The Armory, NYC - It was an exciting weekend we here at MileSplit are still trying to process. In the meantime, check out some of the photo highlights of the weekend.

Plattsburgh, NY - The 2014 NYSPHSAA Central Committee Meeting is currently underway, and we've just received word that the long gestating push to include the weight throw has been approved for the 2014 season.  In addition to the revocation of the jewelry rule, things have been shaping up well in the future of our sport.  Many see this as a way to bridge the gap to include Hammer throw in the spring state meet, which would make us one event short of including every Olympic Event in Track and Field.  That last event would be Javelin, another throwing event.  Below, read the proposal made by Oscar Jensen, long-time coach in Section 3, and Indoor Boys State Coordinator for Indoor Track.

MileSplit NY - It was a big weekend for Track and Field again, as warm temps brought scorching times to the track.  We were on hand at the Somers Lions Club Invitational for all the action, then our coverage shifted to some night action up in Hilton, of Rochester.  The big marks were not exclusive to these two meets, as the St. Anthony's Invite and the Colonie Relays brought about great times as well (more on these tomorrow).
