Whitinsville Christian's rising Junior, Joseph Thumann, runner finishing third overall in the boys 600 at the MIAA Division 5 Championships. He finished in a time of 1:25.51. Video by Jason Byrne. 

        Leading the list of Central Division 2 boys runners is Joseph Thumann of Whitinsville Christian. Thumann is the only sub 16:00 runner in his section with a 2018 personal best 5k of 15:44.10. Thumann is also the Central Division 2 defending champion, having cruised to a first place finish at the 2018 MIAA Central Division 2 Championships time of 16:03.00 - a full 21 seconds ahead of second place.

        With two years of high school running still ahead of him, Thumann is a threat to become a triple Central Division 2 champion. Thumann backed up his division championship with a third place finish at the MIAA All State Finals division 2 race.
