In a highly-competitive 4x800-meter relay at the New Balance Nationals, Lincoln-Sudbury improved on it state-leading performance on Saturday with a sixth-place finish. The recent state champions combined for a time of 7 minutes, 50.10 seconds. The winner of the race was Loudon Valley (VA), which established a facility record inside the New Balance Armory with its winning time of 7:39.30.
Lincoln-Sudbury anchor Robert Roosa clocked the fastest split among his teammates with a time of 1:53.65. Comprising the remaining members of the relay squad were James Ensley (2:01.01), Jack Carter (1:56.66) and Anderson Shew (1:58.78).
Wellesley's Maggie Donahue won the Emerging Elite Girls' Mile with a time of 4 minutes, 58.07 seconds. Tess Reyes of Algonoquin Regional was tenth with a time of 5:06.37.
Rishabh Prakash of Burlington was sixth in the EE Boys' Mile in 4:20.26. Franklin's Tyler Brogan was 12th at 4:22.06.
Concord Carlisle just missed All-American status in the girls. 4xMile Relay. The quartet of Eline Laurent, Ellen Su, Emma Kerimo and Sarah Reichheld combined for a time of 21:04.59, good for seventh overall.
In the boys' race, the Patriots were the top MA school, taking 13th overall in 18:07.58. Alex Ehrenthal, Timothy McClure, Matthew Kleiman and Zander Kessler comprised the foursome. Lowell was 16th in the race with a time of 18:13.22. Wellesley was 17th overall (18:14.83), while Marshfield was 18th (18:36.13).
Bromfield School's Chloe Alfieri was 15th among 37 entries in the preliminaries of the Championship 200m. Alfieri missed qualifying for the finals by .22 of a second with her time of 24.59.
Acton-Boxborough's Adam Yang was 13th overall in the long jump with a leap of 22-3.75.
