
Abigail Hennessey capped off a great cross country season with a fifth-place finish in the Brooks XC National Championship race! The University of Washington-bound Westford Academy senior ran a 17:21.8 for a top-five run in a deeply talented field.
Hennessey came into this meet as the Brooks XC Northeast Champion, winning that regional title race back on November 29th in Boston, punching her ticket to the big show in San Diego.
She had six victories on the season, which include a MIAA 1A state title and MIAA Meet of Champions victory, along with the Regional Championship.
The Brooks XC National Championship was won by Natasza Dudek, running 16:55.5 after a duel with Blair Bartlett, who finished second at 16:57.1.
