Among the 12 runners in the field, Johnson will have to travel the furthest to compete this weekend. As a ninth-grader in 2015, the Michigan standout sizzled to a nation 1,600m best for freshman of 4:10. He was the 800m champion at the Midwest Distance Classic last June where he just missed breaking 1:50 with an all-time best of 1:50.72. A week before that meet, he took individual honors at the State Meet, running a PB of 4:08.30 for 1,600m. Johnson has the talent to place among the top three on Saturday.
