Recapping Another Memorable All State Meet

Roffman Makes Good Use of Inaugural X-C Season

She ditched the soccer cleats and put on the cross-country spikes and right away you could tell it was a good decision for Littleton's Sarah Roffman when she captured Frank Kelley Invitational back on Sept. 30. Roffman did stop there, continuing to shine on the trails wherever she raced. At Saturday's meet, she determined that the best strategy was to take charge early and go from there. Her strategy worked to perfection with a near, gun-to-wire victory.

With the likes of Nauset Regional's Madaket Nobili, a second-place finisher on Saturday, knew it wouldn't be easy.

"This meet was very similar to Twilight based on the field," said Roffman, making reference to the Twilight Invitational, a race she won in 17:57.40. "I was fortunate to win that race. I figured I raced against this competition so I thought I had a good shot...It wasn't an easy field but I knew I was contending for that spot."
