As we stated earlier this week, this year's Twilight Meet ended up being one of the finest and most exciting meet so far this season. The team competition was fierce due to the convergence of twenty teams (boys & girls) ranked in the Top 10 among their respective divisions and top notch runners looking to chase after fast times. For the most part, the fight for top individuals shook out as predicted, but there was lots of drama in the hunt for the team titles and quite a few squads proving us wrong!
BOYS DIVISION 1
The Division 1 Boys Race showcased a battle of two heavy weights in St John's and Wellesley. The Wellesley Raiders place five runners in the Top 15 (48 points) and had a microscopic 28 second 1-5 split. Central Mass powerhouse St John's finished second place with 68 points. St John's Shrewsbury Senior Ben Kovacswon a close battle with Brookline's Lucas Aramburu for the individual title. Kovacs time of 15:20 was the fastest of the day. Cross Country fans will have to wait until the MIAA Tournament to see a great three way battle between Lowell, St John's, and Wellesley.
