2016 Eastern MA Girls XC Individual Preview (D4-D6)

D6 INDVIDUAL

Eve Feuerbach  SO  Manchester Essex Regional

This young lady from Manchester Essex was your D6 Champion in 2015 and we don't expect much to change this year. Only a freshman, Feuerbach ran confidently from the front in Wrentham and took the victory over a fellow freshman from Coyle & Cassidy in a time of 18:57. A week later at the All-State Meet, Eve finished not too far from the top-ranked D4 girls, taking 6th overall in 18:27. Switching gears and hitting the oval, Feuerbach saw more fast times and closed out the year with a new two-mile PR of 11:47. As her sophomore season gets underway, Eve already has high level racing experience dating back to her first varsity season as a seventh grader. This invaluable asset will certainly come into play during the post-season and should push Feuerbach within the top 5 at the All-State Meet.

Stephanie Casaletto  JR  Austin Prep

It was a fantastic year of running in 2015 for Stephanie Casaletto of Austin Prep. Coming out of the gates hard, Casaletto easily took the D2 Girls at Frank Kelley and started her season off on a high note. A few weeks down the road and another big test, Stephanie took on the D6 Race at Eastern MA Champs and came away 5th in 19:34. The cross country season would wrap up with the Austin Prep runner finishing in the top twenty at the All-State meet for the second year in a row and achieving a 5k personal best of 18:58. The track circuit for Casaletto would not disappoint, she wrapped up her sophomore season with a strong new PR of 11:14 in the two mile. Stephanie should be capable of big things this fall and we should see her mixing it up in the top ten rankings of small school runners.

Rachael Johnson  SO  Coyle & Cassidy HS

We advise you to keep a close eye on Rachael Johnson this upcoming fall. Keeping the race schedule light throughout her freshman season, Johnson first popped up when she turned some heads by finishing runner-up at the D6 meet. A week later at her first All-State meet, Rachael flexed her muscle once again and took 10th place overall running 18:37. Despite the limited racing during the track seasons, we still think Johnson is a viable threat for top finishes this fall and should be on the radar of all small school runners.

Evelyn Lantz  SR  Manchester Essex HS

Setting out to make sure the Lantz name is still represented in the lead pack, Evelyn will try her best to make the most of her senior year. Appearing to have only picked up her cross country spikes for the first time last fall, Evelyn held her own and put up strong races all season. During the championship meets, Lantz just missed top 10 at D6 Champs (11th) and closed out the fall with a 39th-place finish at Westfield. We think after getting her feet wet last fall and full year of running under her belt, Lantz should be ready to make a big jump this season. Plus it definitely helps to have a top notch training partner in Eve Feuerbach.

Molly Rains  SR  Amesbury HS

Rains of Amesbury is entering her final cross country season with hopes of another big jump in times and places from 2015. After a being a very middle of the pack underclassmen, Rains turned things up last fall to take 8th at Eastern MA Champs and 30th overall at the All-State Meet. If the Cape Ann runner put together a successful summer of training, we will see her once again in the mix all season.
