Here is a quick look at the New England-Mass boy's all-time indoor list at two miles. The list was updated this AM as a result of Thomas Ratcliffe's fine early season 2-mile performance yesterday at the Dual County League meeting #4 at Boston University. Ratcliffe's performance moves him to #5 all-time New England and #4 Mass. He ranks just behind Al Sal and ahead of Jonathon Riley on both lists. There are 17 athletes on the New England list under 9:09 and 12 athletes on the Mass. list under 9:11. No 3200m marks are included. Also, kinda lost in the shuffle was the fine performance of the Middlesex School's (Concord, MA) Viraj Deokar who ran 8:24.12 for 3000 meters at the BU Mini Meet #3 on January 2. That performance ranks him #3 all-time New England and is a Mass. indoor record. Deokar bettered the previous Mass. record by one second of James Randon, his former teammate at the Middlesex School. Deokar performance at 3000m is worth approximately a 9:04 for the full two-mile distance. The full New England list at 3000 meters is noted below. Must be something in the water out there in Concord.
