The Division 1 boys race had six of the top seven ranked teams in the state battling for the team title. With Lowell missing from the meet, Saint John’s High School edged out Cambridge Rindge & Latin, Northhampton, Needham, Lexington, and Shrewsbury for the team title. Cambridge placed three in the top ten, but with top forty finishes from Saint John’s entire squad, they edged out Cambridge for the top spot by 34 points. Pj Garmon of Billerica (15:36) took first place with Cambridge’s Isu Alemseged (15:38) close behind him. Medfield’s Austin Scola (15:40), Daniel Aschale of Cambridge (15:41) and Chris Skelly of North Middlesex (15:46) rounded out the top 5.

The Division 2 boys race was won in a tight finish by Andrew Ernst of Marblehead (16:01.19). Nick Steele of Bromfield (16:01.77) came in right behind Ernst and Alex Lanzi of Seekonk (16:23), Ryan Wollensak of Hopedale (16:25), and Scott Mccluskey of Coyle & Cassidy (16:27) placed 3rd, 4th, and 5th. Hopedale took the team title with Seekonk narrowly beating out Marblehead for 2nd. 

 

                                               

In the Freshman boys race, Steven O’Driscoll of Norwell cruised through the 2.1 Mile course in 10:59. Joshua Rahn of Saint John’s took 2nd with 11:07. Andrew Corbett of Norwell (11:08) finished 3rd, Lexington’s Thomas Lingard (11:12) and Matthew Stevens (11:13) finished 4th and 5th. Lexington took the unofficial team title with 35 points. 

 

                                              

In the Sophomore boys race, Needham took the unofficial team title. Kevin Wheelock of Melrose (16:45.50) took first. David Seybert of Attleboro (16:45.77), Christian Herlih of Lexington (16:46), Ethan Wu of Norwell (16:56.22) and Michael Spooner of North Middlesex (17:04) rounded out the top five.

In boys JV action, Saint John’s HS won the unofficial team title. In another close finish, Jeremy Canfield of Saint John’s came in first with 17:18.13 and Matija Jankovic of Brookline was a close second with 17:18.67. Andrew Doran of Hopedale (17:29) placed third, Garrett Roy of Saint John’s (17:31) placed fourth, and Joseph Savoie of Hopedale (17:32) finished out the top five.
