SOMERVILLE — Brockton’s Patricia Montiero was the day’s only double winner, placing first in 100-meter hurdles and long jump, Saturday afternoon at the Girls’ State Coaches Invitational at Dilboy Stadium.
In the hurdles, Montiero finished in 15.16 seconds, 0.17 seconds faster than Annalisa Debari of Melrose.
Montiero recorded the top distance in the long jump (17 feet, 11¼ inches), edging Kayla Ralston of Dennis-Yarmouth (17-10½).
“It means so much to me today to win. I always wanted to come in first in the hurdles and long jump. Each time I would come close to it and always finish in second place. It’s just awesome to finally win both events,” said Montiero, who will be joining the 2013-14 freshman class of Brigham Young University on a full track scholarship.
