CMass Division State Meet Previews

CMass Division 2

GIRLS

Littleton is one of a few teams that will try and make a strong statement in this race. The Tigers will be backed by the one-two punch of twin sisters Sarah and Kaitlyn Roffman. In their first season of cross country, the talented siblings are ranked among the top 15 in the state with Sarah at No. 4 and Kaitlyn at No. 13. Sarah, who has a 17:57 5K best this fall, would have to be listed as the favorite based on what she has done so far. She has been first in most of the major meets that she has competed in this season such as the Frank Kelley Invitational, the Twilight Invitational and the Mid-Wach Championships. She was also a runner-up to Wellesley's Margaret Donahue at the Bay State Invitational. Kaitlyn Roffman and Tynsborough's Sophie Campbell looks as though they'll be viable contenders for those two and three slots. Roffman ran a best of 18:28 at Twilight and was second behind her sister in the Class D race at Mid-Wach. Campbell won the 'C' race of that meet and was third in the Division 2 Junior/Senior race at the recent Coaches Invitational where she was clocked in 19:18.

Littleton and Parker Charter, a team with three girls that have dipped under 21 minutes, look to be the top two schools that will be battling for the team trophy.
