Eastern Massachusetts Girls' Division Previews

Eastern Massachusetts Girls' Division 4

With top two finishers Milton and Tewksbury moving up a division, the clear-cut favorite appears to be Westwood, a team that finished third overall at the divisionals and has its top six returning this fall. The Wolverines are led by senior Ashley Walker and junior Sarah Conant who finished fifth and seventh. respectively, at last year's Eastern Massachusetts meet. Westwood also has sub 20-minute runner, junior Emma Harte, who has potential to place among the top 10 at the division meet.  Based on our Virtual Meet, Westwood is more than 100 points ahead of its closet rivals. With that being said, the bigger question may be who will by vying for runner-up honors at the divisions. Notre Dame Academy, Dennis Yarmouth, Medfield and Newburyport all appear to be teams capable of being in the mix. Plymouth South junior Jillian Callahan and Walker would seem like the leading contenders for individual supremacy. Callahan was second at the divisionals and sixth at the Div. 2 All State Meet. Walker took fifth overall at the divisionals and was a runner-up at the State Meet.
