Eastern Massachusetts Girls' Division Previews

Eastern Massachusetts Girls' Division 3

This is a division that looks completely different than it looked in the last few years. Just two schoosl that finished in the top six at the divisionals are coming back, and that's defending champion Walpole and runner-up Hopkinton. Judging by returnees, Walpole could still pose a threat to repeat with all seven of their varsity runners back on the trails.  Hopkinton will have four from 2016-17. But the strength on top appears to be newcomers Milton and Tewksbury, who were 1-2 in Div. 4 last fall. Milton had three of its harrier crack 19 minutes, led by all-stater Bridget Mitchell (18:06.33)  Mitchell will be joined by juniors Elise O'Leary (18:33.66) and Ella Affanato (18:45.56). Tewksbury, which recently finished second at the Clipper Relays, has a solid core of runners, including all-stater Rachel Sessa (18:45.71) and sophomore Meghan Ostertag (19:09.85).
