Here's a meet that saw its share of athletes improve on their seeds for the upcoming State Meets as well as move up the rankings. North Andover's Erick Duffy matched his winning height from last year's meet in the pole vault with a 15-7 effort, the best in the state by nearly two feet! Duffy's teammate Matthew Manteiga took the long jump with a state best of 22-7.25. Central Catholic's Kalvin Guillermo  tossed the shot put a winning 51-9.5, No. 3 in the state. Melrose's Kevin Wheelock took the mile in 4:22.77. In the girls' meet, Newton South's Caroline Barry took the two mile with a sub 11-minute clocking, crossing the line in 10:57.22, the second fastest in MA behind Natick's Grace Connolly. Plymouth South's Madelyn Sessler captured the 100m hurdles. The defending state titlist was timed in 15.04 and clocked a season best of 14.95 in her preliminary heat. Reading Memorial's Haley Lightbody tied the No. 1 height in the state in the pole vault by clearing 11-feet even. She was also first in the long jump with a state No. 2 of 17-9.
