Gold medal worthy at New England's?

Jack Salisbury, 1,000m

Jack is entered in just  one race. That spells trouble for his competition. The La Salle Academy junior goes into the race as the No. 4 seed based on his best of 2:31.48, which he did after running a 4:00 1,500m race and a sub two-minute clocking in the 4x800m relay.  Remember, Jack is a 1:55 half-miler and he has had some of the best races of his career at Reggie Lewis, including his win in the Junior Mile at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix earlier this month. He also has one other thing in his favor - He doesn't like to lose! Jack's biggest competition will be Esu Alemseged of Cambridge (MA), who won last week's All State Meet with a PB of 2:28.57. We're predicting a win for Jack with a time close to the meet record of 2:25.14.
