Notre Dame, Algonquin tops at Mulligan Relays May 04, 2014

BOLTON — Notre Dame Academy's track and field program continued its recent rise into the area's elite on Saturday at the 41st Dick Mulligan Invitational Relays. The Rebels won four events and set a meet record in the long jump, amassing 55 points to unseat Division 2 champion Lunenburg on a sunny day at Nashoba Regional. It was the first time NDA has won the area's preeminent depth meet.  "It's great to finally see that first place," said senior Kelsey Leigher, who played a part in the Rebels wins in the 4x100 meter shuttle hurdle (1:11.9) and the discus (262 feet, 5 inches). Leigher also set the school's individual discus record (114-6), breaking the old mark by more than a foot. "We definitely have the strongest team since I've been here, and everyone works really hard so it was just nice to get this (team win)."
