Although the Mountaineers knew that defending champion Nashoba Regional and Shepherd Hill were not going to compete in yesterday's 13th annual Quabbin Invitational, Wachusett Regional's cross-country runners still saw it as an opportunity to prepare for next month's Central Mass.
