Growing up in Western Massachusetts, there was no shortage of role models for Katie McCully, currently in her seventh year as head coach of the varsity girls cross-country running team at Nauset Regional High School in Eastham. A competitive swimmer from a young age, McCully cites the distance swimmer Janet Evans and lap legend Mark Spitz as among the big influences on her coveted career in the pool.
