We hope to make the New and Notes column a weekly addition to milesplit. This may take a few weeks to develop, but we feel it's a good way to get some information out to the coaches. If any Coaches want to add something to this weekly column we would gladly appreciate it. We will try to keep this section informational, positive, and Newsworthy. X-C Opening Weekend
This weekend we have a few Fun Invitationals on the agenda. On the North Shore we have the Annual Clipper Relay's at Maudsley State Park in Newburyport. The beautiful State Park will host many of the North Shore teams as they circle a two mile woods loop. The next Invitational this weekend is over on beautiful Martha's Vineyard for the 6th Annual Vineyard Invitational hosted by Martha's Vineyard High School. A great way to open the season and hopefully the weather will cooperate. Meet information, 2011 Results.
MSTCA X- Country Clinic
Also this weekend is the MSTCA Clinic at Reggie Lewis Center featuring some of the local premier Coaches. The MSTCA would like to let people know that they will allow same day registration. For more on the Clinic please click here. All other MSTCA Dealines & Information Click Here.
MileSplitMass / Marathon Sports Runners of the Week
Marathon Sports and Milesplitmass will have our Runners of the Week that will start next Friday. One male and Female will be selected and it will be run Thur/Friday of the following week. This weeks selection will most likely be selected from the Vineyard or Clipper Relay Meets. Byron Gartrell from Marathon Sports and a few other people will help in the selection process. Please feel free to send along your thoughts and suggestions to massrunners@gmail.com. We will spread the selections out and you are not allowed to win it twice in a season.
Results for Milesplitmass
Coaches please keep an eye out for a Milesplit posting explaining the results process. Many athletes, coaches, and Parents wonder why some results are not posted on milesplitmass. We love to post every single race and time that we can get our hands on. The main problem is the format in which the results are sent to us. We will explain more in a few days and hopefully everyone will take the appropriate steps to make the posting process smoother.
Exchange Zone
We will try to produce an Exchange Zone at least 3 x a month during the cross-country season. We will also try to do interviews after some of the major races during the season.
Milesplitmass X-C Polls
Coach Miller and many of the local coaches will be developing a Milesplitmass coaches poll, look for this weekly poll all season long.
Photo's All Seaon Long
Milesplitmass will be looking for your help with sending in photo's and video throughout the X-C Season. If you register for milesplit it allows you to upload all the photo's you like. If you see any photo's of your teammates or yourself, please tag them so they end up on your profile.
