Highlights

Wilmington put up a good fight for the first half of the 4x800m until Joe Vercollone of Pembroke took the baton and opened a significant gap on the field with at 1:56.8 split.  Wes Gallagher assumed the anchor duties, running a 1:58 split for a MA#4 winning time of 8:09.97.

The Medfield girls put some distance on Bishop Feehan during the sprint sections of the SMR and ran away with the race in 4:17.20.  Their time is MA#2 and Bishop Feehan’s 4:20.83 is currently MA#5.

It was a tight race in the boys SMR and Dennis-Yarmouth took control of the early pacing duties behind the 1:57 (800m) split of Sean NeeBishop Feehan would regain the lead and collect the win with a MA#4 time of 3:39.49.  Dennis-Yarmouth held off Dighton-Rehoboth 3:40.87 to 3:40.88.  Their times are MA#7 and MA#8, respectively.

The Hingham girls blistered the field in the girls 4x200m.  Their time of 1:47.63 just missed the meet record of 1:47.1 set by Norwell in 1998.  Medfield was second in 1:48.99 and Randolph was third in 1:49.81.

The Hopkinton girls 4x50y Shuttle Hurdle team of Kaelynn Maloney, Mirelle Raza, Kaylin Albanese, and Emily Jarvis beat the meet record of 30.78, set by their school in 2009.  They were the only team to run under 30 seconds; winning the event in 29.99.  Hopkinton would return to run under the meet record in the 4x50y relay, but their 24.86 time was not enough to upset Hingham who won the event in record time (24.67).  The second place did help Hopkinton earn the team title by over 20 points.

Abby McNulty anchored the Bishop Feehan DMR team to a win with a 5:11 split for her mile leg.  The Feehan girls combined for a final time of 12:40.07.  Foxboro was second at 12:58.10 and Hopkinton was third 12:58.59.

Stephen Robertson continues his brilliant season by anchoring his Wakefield DMR team to the title with a 4:25.2 split (10:48.43 team time).  Robertson received the baton well out of the lead and methodically set-up the field in the first 800m.  He took over the pacing duties with David Allen of Sandwich and the pair broke away from Henry Dodge of Bishop Feehan who lost his shoe at the initial exchange.  Dodge would launch a charge over the final 200m to close on Allen and Bishop Feehan would capture second in 10:51.30; just over a second ahead of Sandwich (10:51.92). The eight points earned helped Bishop Feehan secure the team title by five points over Hingham.
