Highlights
- The Whitman-Hanson boys improved to 4-0 with a convincing win over Silver Lake and Hanover. Pat Ryan (16:18), Nate Stephansky (16:35) and Pat Mulrey (17:14) led the way for the Panthers on the 5,000m course at Whitman-Hanson.
- Wes Gallagher of Pembroke set a course record of 16:33.9 on the 5,000m Middleboro High School Course. The Titans won both ends of the tri-meet against Middleboro and Duxbury.
- Nick Christensen (14:17) and Catarina Rocha (16:12) of Peaboody both set new course records on their home course as the Tanners defeated Gloucester and Marblehead.
- Annie McElaney finished first (19:33) to lead Natick to a BCS win over Newton North and Milton. Natick remains undefeated in league action.
- Weymouth held-off Wellesley and Framingham in a tri-meet at Wompatuck State Park. Priyanka Fouda won the race for Wellesley in 17:24, but Weymouth's depth was too much as they took spots 2-6.
- A first place finish by Ben Gagne-Maynard was the difference as Longmeadow edged Minnechaug 26-31.
- Mansfield opened the season with an 18 to 47 win over Attleboro. Kham Haleudeth (17:34) and Mitch Negus (17:35) took the top 2 spots for the Hornets. Josh Lampron did not race.
- Sacred Heart Senior Rebecca Stanton posted the 6th fastest time ever for her school on the 2.9 mile home course. Sacred Heart would win the meet 19-44 over Diman.
- Wednesday featured a couple of one point meets for the boys. Brockton beat Bridgewater-Raynham 29-30, and Ipswich edged Pentucket 27-28. More details will follow.
- The MA#4 (D2) Hopedale boys easily handled their head-to-head match-up with MA#12 Sutton (D2). The Blue Raiders just missed a perfect score by posting a 16-46 win.
- The Acton-Boxborough and Lincoln-Sudbury boys dual meet turned into a track race. A-B used their foot speed to make a late push in the final 300m to get the win 26-31.
- Anna Rhatigan of Newton South set a new course record at Westford Academy by running the 3 mile course in 18:55. Emily Ruggiero of Westford Academy was also under the previous meet record, finishing in 19:09.
