Western Mass Championships
Highlights
- After 18 events, Northampton and Holyoke would end-up tied at 57 points for the boys' championship. The Northampton girls would win by 12 points over East Longmeadow.
- It was a true photo finish in the 100m. Caldwell Miller of New Leadership and Jaytoe Teh of Putnam both finished in 11.19, but when the officials examined the picture Caldwell was determined to be the winner by .004.
- Trent George of Mahar won the 200m (22.00), the 400m (50.34), and was second in the long jump (21'1.5").
- Alex Sullivan of Northampton would have just enough to hold off Jon Horstman of South Hadley in the 800m. Sullivan won the event in 1:57.55, while Horstman was second in 1:57.61.
- Juwan Daniels-Dyer of Holyoke won the high jump at 6'6".
- Greg Copeland of Longmeadow set a new meet record in the pole vault at 14'3".
- Tchuijo Nkamebo of Amherst-Pellham won the triple jump at 47'3.5". Jasper McCoy of Springfield Science-Tech was second at 46'1".
- Brianna Tabin of South Hadley won the 100m in 12.27.
- Mia Toffoli of Northampton won the 400m in 57.34.
- Jennifer Fisher of Minnechaug won the 800m in 2:18.12.
- Madison Granger of Belchertown won the mile by just under 10 seconds in 5:07.91.
- Camille Blackman of Longmeadow scorched the field in the 2 mile; recording a 36 second win (10:56.75).
- Marisa Sprague of Wahconah edged Amber Legare of Chicopee Comprehensive 17'3" to 17'2.5" to win the long jump. Ali MCMahon of East Longmeadow was not far behind at 17'1".
- Wes Calhoun of South Hadley successfully managed two simultaneous events by winning the long jump at 22'1" and finishing third in the high jump (6'2").
