Over 250 MA Athletes Scheduled to Compete
Many of Massachusetts’ finest decided to take last weekend off, or at least, modify what they ran in preparation for the New Balance Indoor Nationals. Nationally ranked 2 Milers John Murray (Shrewsbury), Shayne Collins (Mansfield), and David Melly (Newton South) all decided to bypass the event at the New England Championships in an effort to get some much needed rest.
Massachusetts 1000 Meter leaders Josh Lampron (Mansfield) and Andrea Keklak (Lincoln-Sudbury) also decided to step away from their primary events at the New England Championships to focus on the 4x800 Meter Relay. Lampron will make a return to the 1000 Meter Run at the New Balance Indoor Nationals, while Keklak has moved up to the mile after regaining the national lead in the 1000m (2:47.93) at the Massachusetts All-State Meet.
On the other end of the philosophical spectrum are the sprinters. Greg Boursiquot (Stoughton) has run every 55 Meter Hurdles race the only way he knows how……..all-out. He posted a US#4 time in the prelims at the New England Championships and then went on to win the event in 7.49. Rebecca Robinson has run a 55 Meter/ 300 Meter double in just about every meet this season and has broken every conceivable record along the way. She is currently ranked US#5 at 300m (38.90) and we will finally get to see her run the 400m fresh.

Newton Centre Athletics (Newton South) – MA #1 with a season best time of 4:13.30. Kathy O’Keefe has run 2:53.21 for 1000m and 4:54.82 for the mile. In addition, Alekh Chaparala has run 1:43.89 for 600m.

Lady Lions (Chelmsford) – MA #8 with a season best time of 12:42.05. Alli Wood has run 3:01.78 for 1000m; Alanah Busby has run 1:39.57 for 600m; Kristi Pisarik has run 3:05.67 for 1000m; and Jennie Pisarik has run 5:29.37 for the mile.
Lincoln-Sudbury TC (Lincoln-Sudbury) – US #1 with a season best time of 11:51.47. Won the Yale Track Classic with splits of 3:38.4, 63.3, 2:20.5, and 4:49.3. They appear to be healthy and may post an even faster time.
Wachusett TC (Wachusett) – MA #2 with a season best time of 12:16.38. Colleen Sands has run 5:06.29 for the mile; Amy Collins has run 1:36.39 for 600m; Meaghan Dowd has run 43:13 for 300m; and Laura Williamson has run 2:57.23 for 1000m.
Whitman TC (Whitman-Hanson) – MA #3 with a season best of 12:19.43. Abby Baker, Rachel Baker and Gianna Cacciatore have all run under 5:20 for the mile. Melanie Collins has run 1:51.04 for 600m.
Wild Kittens TC (Weston) – MA #4 with a season best of 12:28.98. Abigail Pohl has run 3:03.09 for 1000m, while Charlotte Walmsley and Olivia Brackett have both run 3:13 for 1000m.
Championship 55 Meter Shuttle Hurdle Relay
Hamilton TC (Hamilton-Wenham) – Natalie White leads the team with a season best of 9.03 for the 55 Meter Hurdles. Tyler Parady has run 9.11, Camilla Worsfold has run 9.62, and Tess Obenschain has run 9.67.
Waltham TC (Newton North) – Kayla Wong is ranked #4 in the state at 8.47, followed closely by Carla Forbes who is ranked #10 in the state at 8.67. Amy Ren has a season best of 8.92, and Steph Brown has run 9.39.

Moira Cronin (Andover) – MA #2 with a season best of 5’6”. Won the Merrimack Valley Conference and was 4th at the Massachusetts Division 1 State Championships.
Kristen McDonagh (Mansfield) – MA #1 with a season best of 5’8”. New England and Massachusetts State Champion.

Nationally ranked 2 Milers John Murray (Shrewsbury), Shayne Collins (Mansfield), and David Melly (Newton South) all decided to bypass the event at the New England Championships in an effort to get some much needed rest.
