Field Events - Top Performers
Jayden Delaleu, Millbury - The junior has looked like one of the state's best field athletes early on this season, winning the high jump, long jump, and triple jump at several different meets. He is currently the top-ranked athlete in the high jump, having cleared 6-9 en route to a win at the Millbury vs Douglas Dual Meet and jumped 42-7 in the triple jump, winning the event at the Millbury vs Burncoat Dual Meet.
Malcom Were, Belmont - The sophomore is unbeaten in two triple jump competitions this season, having jumped 46-3.25 in his most recent appearance in the event. He now leads the state in the sport's most technical field event and has plenty of season left to chase a better mark - and perhaps even a state title.
Leet Leet, Worcester Vocational Technical - In his long jump season debut, the junior went 22-5, setting the state's top mark in the event and winning his local Dual Meet. He also won the triple jump at the event, jumping 44-7, inserting himself into the conversation as Massachusetts' best all-around jumper.
Sophia Olaniyan, Taunton - The senior scored a massive win at the New York Relays over the weekend, throwing 135-6 in the discus and extending her winning streak in the event. Her three wins this season already tie the amount she had last year in the event and her new MA #1 mark suggests there could be more to come as the spring progresses.
