As expected, this was an extremely difficult task. With so many to chose from, we have come up with a list of what we consider the top 20 performances of the outdoor track & field season. We rank them in order, beginning with No. 20 and finishing with No. 1.
Countdown: No. 11, O'Brien Blazes 200 At NBN
In two short years, Shrewsbury junior Joseph O'Brien has propelled himself to elite status in the Bay State. After finishing tenth at the Western/Central Division 1 meet in 2017, O'Brien claimed individual honors this past spring in the 200m dash by dipping under 22 seconds for the first time. A week later, he won the crown at the All State Meet (see above). The performance we put at the top, also happened to be O'Brien's best. Competing with some of the country's finest at the New Balance Nationals, the gifted junior clocked a PR of 21.31. That clocking is the second fastest in the state the last 10 years and proves there's potential for a sub-21 next year.
