Julia Palin is heading south next fall!
The Norton High senior and middle-distance specialist has committed to Louisiana State University, a Division 1 program in Baton Rouge, La. Palin signed her national letter of intent this past week to continue her education and athletic endeavors with the Tigers, who compete in the Southeastern Conference.
In the classroom, Palin ranks among the top five percent among her peers. On the track, she currently owns 11 indoor and outdoor school records (including relays) for the Lancers. This past winter, Palin was fifth in the 1,000-meter run where she was clocked in 2 minutes, 58.21 seconds. She improved on that time by more than a second when she finished sixth overall in the 1K at the New England Championship where she was timed in 2:56.95.
