The first day of the Dartmouth Relays for MA schools was highlighted by a pair of victories in the sprint medley relays Friday night.
Lowell High clocked a nation No. 14 to win the boys event. The quartet of Anthony Doung, Malik Diaz, Jose Guzman and Nasir Gibson combined for a time of 3 minutes, 41.73 seconds. Lowell beat a quality field that included second-place Bishop Hendricken (RI) and Christian Brothers Academy (NY), who were timed in 3:43.55 and 3:45.43, respectively.
Austin Prep copped the girls' SMR with the foursome of Emily Hickey, Caroline Russell, Stephanie Casaletto and Lauren Sablone running 4:18.58. Toll Gate (RI) was second (4:19.98) and Niskayuna (NY) placing third (4:20.30).
In other top performances...
- Lowell's Deven Rosa was third overall in the unseeded two-mile run. Rosa crossed the line in 10:10.90.
- Pembroke finished third overall in the boys' DMR with a time of 10:49.43.
- Littleton was a runner-up in the girls' DMR with a 12:22.60.
