Big Record For Agyare-May At Big Apple

Former Burncoat star Rodney Agyare-May was unbeaten against MA rivals, including rising star Theo Burba of Newton North, the nation's top tenth-grader. Four times during the winter campaign, Agyare-May dipped under 1:19 for the three-lapper.  But it was his second time under the milestone that made the biggest noise. Competing in his specialty at the Armory Track Invitational in New York, the Harvard-bound senior won the race with a new state and New England record of 1:18.40. That time dipped under the 2009 NE mark of 1:18.72 by Connecticut's Cas Loxom, the current 600m world record-holder. Agyare-May would improve on his record at the New England Championships a few weeks later when he broke the tape in 1:18.31.
