Record 2 Mile ??
Just like last weekend in Norwell, Thomas Ratcliffe's biggest competition was the heat. The Senior from Concord Carlisle put his head down on the last 400 meters in an attempt to eclipse one of the longest standing records on the books. Alberto Salazar of Wayland High School ran 9:00.00 hand timed back in 1975. Ratcliffe was slightly off pace with 400 Meters to go and put together a fantastic last lap to finish with a 9:00.52. Meet management declared a record, but when the dust settles unfortunately the conversion with come up short.
. Thomas Ratcliffe always realized that family, coaches, fans and athletes all love to see him compete and chase records. He never seemed to disappoint as he always showed up ready to put on a show. We would like to Thank Thomas for a memorable 2016.
