MIAA All State Records May Tumble Down Tomorrow !

MIAA Auerbach All State Meet


Massachusetts Track & Field fans are in for a spectacular meet tomorrow at Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. The meet is going to offer not only great races, but several All State Meet Records just might fall. Here's a look at some of the potential records that might tumble down.

Girls 55M Dash- Duncan vs Williams !  These two young ladies will be worth the price of admission.  They will not only face off in the 55M, but they will also follow it up with a battle in the 300M. It doesn't get any better than this ! I think both 55M & 300M records are in jeopardy. 

Girls 1000M Run- One of the State's toughest records might be in jeopardy. The 1000M record was set by Ari Lambie at 2:45.46 in 2003. Tomorrows 1000M field tomorrow is one of the best fields ever assembled. The race will feature Sara Armstrong (Needham), Sarah Edwards (Bellingham), Clare Martin ( Newton South), and Ariel Keklak (Lincoln Sudbury). It wouldn't shock many people if Lambie's record is retired tomorrow.


Girls 1 Mile Run- Margie Cullen will be chasing a team title tomorrow for Needham, so records might be off the agenda. She has been close to cracking that 4:50 barrier for a few weeks now. If Beverly's Curtin can force the pace a little bit, then Cullen may crash that barrier and possibly a new state mile record as well.

Boys High Jump- The fans might be in for a real treat as Newburyport's Alec Reduker might be the first jumper in many years to clear the 7Ft barrier. He had three very solid attempts last week. If he clears the famous barrier, then it will be a new All State mark. Playing his cards properly will be important, because Nipmuc's Kevin Hack could be battling right along side with him. PLEASE Mr Starter.......let's not fire a gun when a jumper is attempting 7Ft ! Let the track fans enjoy a historical milestone.

Boys 600M Run- If Rodney Agyare-May of Burncoat runs a carbon copy of the MSTCA Elite Meet, then Joe Luongo's mark of 1:19.36 will be history.

Boys 1 Mile Run- Will Thomas Ratcliffe max out tomorrow? As long as his legs feel fine, we think he will race against the clock tomorrow. He wasn't too happy with his NBGP performance, so he may try to make some noise tomorrow. Plus he has a long wait to the New Balance Nationals.

Boys 300M -  Anthony Delasanta of Bisho Feehan has built up quite the resume this season, but he will have to deal with a healthy Abu Ceesay of Norton. They both could challenge the 300M mark set by Andrew Bolze of Hingham in 2014.
