Indoor Track and Field in Massachusetts really start to grow in the 1980's as both genders were competing at the same locations for the first time. Harvard's Gordon Track Complex could seat 1500 spectators and would be a place to call home for the next 15 years.
- The first All State meet was introduced in 1985, but it was run at the slower MIT facility.
- Longtime Cambridge Coach Bob MacGuire led his Cambridge teams to four Division 1 titles, as well as three All State crowns.
