It's a different team and a different season for Thomas
D'Anieri.
And it's all good.
The senior from Wellesley High is not only making last
year's struggles on the cross-country trails a distance memory, but is on a
squad that has made a complete turnaround from a losing record in 2014.
Saturday saw the Bulldogs capture their first-ever title at
the Eastern Mass. Division 2 State Championship where they defeated
second-place Mansfield, 50-73. D'Anieri added to the celebration by taking
individual honors with a triumphant clocking of 15 minutes, 42.34 seconds.
"It's definitely been like the best cross-country season
ever," said the Wellesley standout. "We never had a team that was this
strong. We won the conference this year
after having a losing record last year. Individually, it's been great. I have
been running some fast times. It's definitely my best season."
