Back in 2002, the Bishop Feehan girls' cross-country team
won the MIAA Eastern Division 3 State Championship.
Thirteen years later, not much has changed.
Saturday proved to be business as usual for the Shamrocks,
who rolled to their record-breaking 11th straight divisional title and 13th
in the last 14 years. Highlighted by an individual victory from junior Abigail
Long, Bishop Feehan posted a dominant 93-163 decision over second-place
Hopkinton at the Wrentham Developmental Center complex.
"I told the girls today the coaches are there for you, but
you're the ones that do all the work," said longtime Bishop Feehan coach Bob L'Homme
said. "It started in '02 with tremendous leadership, and success breeds
success. It's been a great ride."
Just like her team, Long was a convincing winner on a cold
