It was a technical mistake in Isabella DiMare's specialty that she knows she can get away with early in the season and still recover quickly enough to pull out a victory. The Notre Dame Academy star has no intention, however, of it happening late February and early March during championship season.

The Holy Cross-bound DiMare got a decent start out of the blocks at Saturday's Boston Holiday Challenge, but her steps were off as she approached the barrier in the 55 hurdles. DiMare, whose training was slowed this week due to sickness, cleared the first hurdle with her opposite foot. The defending state champion in the event righted herself almost immediately and tore away from the field for a solid 8.84 victory. Pentucket's Tyler Feeney took second in 9.19 and DiMare's teammate, Julia Marshall, was a strong third in 9.39.
