HISTORIC MOMENTS !

                                                                                                  ..................THE HEAT !

For the second year in a row the heat played a role in the 2 Mile. In her final race, Abbie Mcnulty's only challenge came from the mid afternoon sun. A Mass Track official helps Abbie off the track.  "I feel a little sad that it was my last race. It was a cool four years."

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW.....!

Needham Coach Chris Van Cott howls to his athletes in the mile run as they earned a 1-2 finish.

                                                                                    ......... PURE DETERMINATION !

Kaleigh Hughes of Needham High School showed pure determination in the last 50 Meters as her body collapses over the line for a second place finish.

THE SURGE !

Newburyport's Nick Carleo surge going into the 3rd quater was enough to break up the field in the mile run. Carleo's winning time was 4:15.42.

                                                                                                   ...........OH SO CLOSE !

Paul Hogan of Burlington High School almost took down the Alberto Salazar's 39 Year old record in the 2 Mile. Hogan ran 9:01.47, falling just shy of Salazar's 9:00.0 clocking in 1975.

SHOCKING MOMENTS......

The look of fear on Natick's Kisha Karla face pretty much tells the story, but it was top seed Isabelle DiMare that was called for the false start. DiMare bounced back like a true champion to win the 200 Meter dash later in the meet. "It's a mind game after that because you don't want to false start again," said DiMare. "I felt nice and relaxed (in the 200). At least I turned it into something good."

Top seeded Ben Colello of Lincoln Sudbury lost his left track shoe early on in the 110 Meter hurdle final. Colello won the 400 Meter Hurdles earlier in the meet, but the L-S senior ended up 8th place in the final.

EXPERIENCE PREVAILS.....
