Connecticut Valley Running Camp 

At the University of Connecticut Campus in Storrs, CT


You are invited to the inaugural sessions of Connecticut Valley Running Camp on the beautiful University of Connecticut campus in Storrs, CT! This summer UConn distance coaches Amy Yoder-Begley and Andrew Begley (women's distance coaches) and Renny Waldron (men's distance coach) will be directing two sessions; the first is a day clinic over two days in June, and the second an overnight camp in July. Day Clinic, June 29-30th at the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs, Connecticut
Students will spend Sunday (9am - 4pm) and Monday (7-4:30pm) learning the basics of how to be a better runner. The emphasis of this camp is creating better running form and improving speed. We will also cover injury prevention and information on strength training. Participants will receive a free T-Shirt and included in the price of camp is lunch on Sunday and breakfast and lunch on Monday. Cost of this two-day clinic will be $200 if registered by March 1st, 2014.

Overnight Cross Country Camp at the University of Connecticut campus in Storrs, Connecticut,
Our first session overnight session will start on Sunday, July 27th, and end on Friday, August 1st and will be open to boys and girls entering 6th through 12th grades. The Connecticut Valley Running Camp will offer some of the best locations to run in the Northeast, with miles and miles of soft trails around the UConn campus. Featuring top collegiate coaches and runners, the camp will be a place to learn about the sport and see your potential grow! Campers will learn about a variety of topics, including biomechanics, physiology, race-day preparation, drills, psychology and most importantly, how to have fun while running fast! Campers will stay in the UConn dorms and eat at the UConn dining halls. Cost of this overnight camp will be $550 if registered by March 1st, 2014.

Our Philosophy
Our goal is to help you enjoy the sport while making you a better runner. Camp staff will work with you as we provide ways to train smarter, help build your team atmosphere, learn leadership skills and improve your personal records. We will take the time to work with you individually and as well as in a group setting. No matter how fast you are or what level of experience, when you come to camp you can rest assured you will have a great time this summer at Connecticut Valley Running Camp. 

Camp Staff
The Connecticut Valley Running Camp Staff is made up of fantastic college and high school coaches. Camp Directors Amy Yoder-Begley, Andrew Begley and Renny Waldron are currently the cross country and distance coaches at the University of Connecticut. Staff Coaches will include renown high school coaches, and Staff Counselors are top collegiate and post-collegiate runners.  

 Please note that both the day camp and the overnight camp are open to students entering 6th through 12th grades during the 2014-2015 school year.
