Local runners take over Ocean State Invitational
WARWICK - Goddard Park played host to the Ocean State Invitational Saturday, but it may as well have been the Sun Chronicle all-star team Invitational as the local runners ruled the day.
First and foremost was the performance turned in by Bishop Feehan standout Abbie McNulty.The senior smashed the course record to win the meet and helped the Shamrocks take second in the Girls' Championship Division.
"That's the deepest field they've had there in a long time, so to take second place is an accomplishment," said Feehan coach Bob L'Homme. "All the girls ran pretty good, but what can you say about Abbie? That meet record had been around for a while and she just crushed it."
