Each year, right around this time, the Norwell girls cross country team feels the heat. For a team that hasn’t lost a South Shore League meet since Sept. 24, 1996, the pressure to perform against the top teams in the league mounts. Tuesday in Norwell, the pressure didn’t get to the Clippers as they narrowly beat East Bridgewater, 23-35, to improve to 4-0 and extend their SSL winning streak to 108. “East Bridgewater always runs very well against us,” Norwell Head Coach Chuck Martin said. “It was nice to get this out of the way so we can concentrate on the second half of the season.”
